I am new here and have really enjoyed all the great info on products for myself. Then I got to thinking about my baby boy. That is, my Mini Schnauzer. I'm wondering if you know anything about dog shampoo ingredients and what would be safe for their skin. Also, are Royal Treatment products actually better than most "regular" shampoos for them. They are one of the only companies I can find that actually list their ingredients. Or if anyone knows where I should go to find more info about this topic that would be great!

for the ultimate cool - there's a pet care line by Kiehl's. I don't know that it does anything more than any other products, but you can see the ingredients label on line.

You are usually told to bathe your dog only once every 2-3 months so you don't dry out their skin. I would like to bathe my dog more often, at least once a month. A dogs' skin is nonporous and more alkaline than ours with a pH usually ranging from 6.5 to 8.5. So I guess what I'm asking is because of that, and since sulfates can be drying, would a pH balanced shampoo that uses the gentle cleansers decyl glucoside and cocamidopropyl betaine be better? I have emailed some companies for ingredients lists and found a few bottles at Petsmart that list ingredients and most use sodium laureth sulfate. I know this is milder than sodium lauryl sulfate, but is it as gentle as decyl glucoside and cocamidopropyl betaine?
